Two trustees of the Ngāti Rehua Ngātiwai ki Aotea Trust have resigned and are required to be replaced. Nominations were called for members to stand as trustees.
Clause 31(c) of the Trust Deed stipulates that “A minimum of two trustees must be permanent residents of Aotea Island.”  Currently there is only one trustee residing on the island, and so at least one more is required to be elected. Four nominations were received for the two vacant positions on the Trust board, but only one of them resides on Aotea Island. Teresa Petty will be formally declared elected unopposed for the “on-island” seat at the SGM. The remaining three nominees, as listed below, are standing for the other vacant trustee position.
