Online Ratepayer Enrolment

Councils are transitioning to paperless processes using Election Services digital products such as Online Ratepayer Enrolment.

In the past, managing the voting entitlements of ratepayers with multiple properties has been a challenge for councils across New Zealand. Ratepayers may be entitled to more than one vote in local government elections, if they pay rates on a property in a different area from where they live (and are also on the electoral roll). Using Online Ratepayer Enrolment election software, ratepayers can now complete and submit an application for enrolment as a ‘ratepayer elector’ and check their voting entitlement immediately. The new process is more efficient and easy for everybody.
